Desiree Carroll, MA, LPC, NCC and Rachelle Stroh, MSW, LCSW are EMDRIA Approved Consultants-In-Training (CITs) offering individual consultation services to professional therapists.
Desiree brings over a decade of experience working in the mental health field. She was trained in EMDR in 2014 and became certified in 2023. She has worked with a broad range of concerns including eating disorders, self harm and suicidality, complex grief and loss, and trauma. She mainly works from a client centered, attachment based style; while incorporating parts work, EMDR, and animal assisted therapy. Her consultation style allows for you to be the expert on your client while exploring places you feel stuck and giving you confidence to further integrate EMDR.
Rachelle completed EMDR basic training in 2022 and is an EMDRIA EMDR Certified Therapist. She has advanced EMDR training in C-PTSD, OCD, Grief and Loss, Early Intervention and Recent Event Protocols. Rachelle values advanced education/training and is committed to her own continued growth as an EMDR therapist. She has experience providing EMDR in Private Practice and Community Mental Health settings with a variety of client populations. As a Consultant-In-Training, Rachelle encourages vulnerability and grace in learning so that you may feel safe in exploring, asking questions, trying new things and confidently integrating your unique style into your EMDR practice.
EMDR consultation offers a collaborative space for therapists to explore complex cases, address challenges, and deepen their understanding of the EMDR approach. Consultants provide a valuable perspective, helping therapists identify potential blind spots and offering alternative interventions or strategies when needed. They also assist therapists in applying the eight-phase EMDR protocol effectively, ensuring proper adherence to the standardized procedure. Through consultation, therapists can enhance their competence, troubleshoot difficulties, and improve their overall proficiency in delivering EMDR therapy, ultimately leading to better treatment outcomes for their clients.
